An Ohio Christmas tree trip can take you through fields near the Cleveland and Akron suburbs, into the countryside around Columbus, or toward farms outside Cincinnati and Dayton. This checked selection also reaches the Lake Erie region and northwestern Ohio near Findlay. Coverage is thinner in southeastern Ohio, so the Ohio Christmas Tree Association’s farm finder can help you explore additional growers before checking their own current notices.
Canaan fir, concolor fir, white pine, Scotch pine and several spruces appear in the farms below. Some growers also offer Fraser fir or other varieties. Species and cutting-field inventory vary, so contact the farm if you have a particular tree in mind. A few farms sell trees freshly cut from their own fields as another way to bring home a locally grown tree.
Many sales calendars begin around Thanksgiving, while some farms open the preceding weekend. Early tagging can happen weeks before cutting begins, and several farms require reservations.
Measure your room, leaving space for the stand and topper. Bring sturdy boots, gloves and secure transport straps. Check the farm’s latest notice before leaving: weather, appointments and remaining trees can affect a visit even within a posted season.
